  3.     As far as I know, MPS-801/803
  4. users can only use reverse highlights
  5. -- which I might add is pretty ugly
  6. even on my Panasonic 24-pin printer.
  7. Nevertheless, if reverse is the only
  8. highlight your printer can do, it's
  9. there.

  11.     If you choose no emphasis,
  12. you'll notice that previously
  13. emphasized words suddenly have
  14. [brackets] around them.  I wish I
  15. could actually [show] you a bracket,
  16. but I can't.  That's the cost of
  17. introducing highlighted text.  We had
  18. to pick characters that turned the
  19. highlight on and off but still looked
  20. decent if revealed by a printout.

  26.     Text Printer is written in 100%
  27. machine language now.  Why did we do
  28. that you might ask?  Well, the old
  29. text printer had its limits with
  30. larger files because I don't have the
  31. source code to the old printout
  32. algorithm.  So I cannibalized the
  33. presenter's print routines, wrote a
  34. new file requestor, and kabam!  A new
  35. text printer!

  37.     Originally I tried to make the
  38. new text printer run [internally]
  39. from the presenter (in its font
  40. area).  This would have facilitated
  41. instantaneous return to LOADSTAR and
  42. a much smaller text printer.  I was
  43. excited about it, but alas, it was
  44. too big a job in too little time.
  45. Bugs abounded.  The final text
  46. printer took only a day or two to do
  47. after abandoning the internal text
  48. printer fiasco.

  51. received -- even by MPS-801 users.
